WHAT CRYSTALS DO:
Quartz crystals are a gift from the earth. They have the ability to amplify or strengthen the things in you that are positive, and can help you put away things that cause you fear or anger. They can strengthen your ability to be a loving person, and can enhance your abilities to enjoy life and accomplish the things you want in life. They can amplify INTENTION, reduce stress, help with CENTERING (balancing or calming), strengthen HEALING abilities, and surround you with PROTECTION by amplifying white light. Any healthy quartz crystal point can strengthen these things and help produce personal growth by amplifying the subtle energies that flow inside you. 

SELECTING A CRYSTAL:
To select a crystal, first put yourself in a calm space. Hold the crystal in your right hand with the point towards you. Feel it physically. Be open to sensations like TINGLING, or change in temperature. Also feel the crystal emotionally. Think of the purpose you want it for, and see if you feel attracted to it. Be more concerned with how it feels than how it looks. Allow the crystal to pick you by interacting with it in this way. And remember to go with your initial feeling. If you need a specialized type of crystal to work with, consider one of the types described below.

SPECIAL PROPERTIES OF CRYSTALS:
In addition to the general characteristics mentioned above, quartz crystals sometimes have other special attributes that enhance their power. To identify these special types of crystals, pay particular attention to the largest of the faces that slope toward the point. Does it have pyramids (triangles) on it? Count the number of edges surrounding the face. This number can be anywhere from 3 to 8, and is one of the things that determines the special characteristics of the crystal. In addition to strengthening the Inner Being as all crystals do, the crystals listed below are true teachers and provide additional special help. Most of them are relatively rare, and they should be highly treasured when one of them finds you. 

For men, the Isis crystal will help you become more in tune with your feminine side and to become more aware of the aspects of women that you may find troubling.  

For women, the Isis crystal will help you regain some of the power and energy that society has taken from you. Teaches that feminine is not weak. Anyone doing healing work with another person needs the Isis energy to be effective.  

The Isis crystal should be carried or held when dealing with issues that are emotional and difficult.

Exercise: Isis crystals can be used to project nurturing energy toward another person. To do this, sit quietly with the Isis crystal in your hand with the point directed away from you. Visualize the person that you wish to help and visualize white light going from the point of the crystal and surrounding the person.  

To nurture yourself, sit with the Isis crystal in your hand with the point directed toward you. Visualize white light going from the point of the crystal and surrounding you. After doing this you should feel strong and cared for.

The Isis crystal provides for a conscious connection to the higher wisdom which is available from the higher self and/or to the wisdom of experience and enlightenment which is available from the "other side".  Channeling crystals can be used to bring forth light and love from the most truthful and knowledgeable portions of the self.*
 

Communication with Guide: A channeling crystal is a line of communication with sources outside yourself. Generally, the main source is your guide. A guide is a non-physical entity whose primary job is to look after you. Every human being has a guide. Guides are sometimes called other things, such as conscience, or angels, but they are always with us. We must learn to listen to what they have to say. Your guide will never tell you what to do, or interfere in other ways with what you want to do, but your guide is there to help you find answers for yourself. And you can use your channeling crystal to let your guide be your conscience.  

A channeling crystal can only be used by the person holding it. In other words, you can't send the energy to someone else in order to let him receive the information directly. However, since guides communicate readily with each other, you can become good at getting information to people by asking your guide to give you the needed information for someone else, and then relaying it to the person. This is how you channel information for others. Channeling crystals amplify the quiet inner voice of your guide, and can be a big help in learning how to channel information, both for yourself and for others. 

Exercise: Sit quietly holding the channeling crystal in your hand and focus on or consider the problem or area that you need help with. `Listen' carefully but remember that the answer might not come immediately. Often, in the beginning you may find that you wake up some morning and seem to `know' what to do. When you are working on a problem, keep the channeling crystal with you as much as possible and keep it close at night. Sometimes that is the only time the answers can come clearly when you are just starting to open yourself.

Recognized by a large seven sided face located in the center front position of the terminated end of the crystal; a triangular face is located on the opposite (back) side of the crystal.  It provides for a conscious connection to the higher wisdom which is available from the higher self and/or to the wisdom of experience and enlightenment which is available from the "other side".  Channeling crystals can be used to bring forth light and love from the most truthful and knowledgeable portions of the self.*

Grounding crystals help you deal with practical matters in a realistic way. They connect you with the earth and keep your energies from being scattered. They help you think clearly and express yourself clearly. When used in meditation they help you form a strong connection with higher knowledge, but keep you grounded so that you can apply that information in practical terms. When using a grounding crystal to work through a personal problem, remember that it will require you to look at the truth of the situation and compel you to deal with that truth.  

It is sometimes difficult to recognize times when you need this crystal because not being grounded can be a way of life for some people. These days, it is common to be a little spacey because of things going on in our world. When you are having trouble concentrating, feeling a reluctance to tackle a task that needs doing, or find yourself running in circles but accomplishing nothing, you need a grounding crystal.  

Exercise: Sit quietly holding the crystal. Visualize yourself firmly rooted to the earth. Breathe deeply and visualize the roots going deeper into the earth. Continue this exercise until you feel calm and peaceful. When you are having a `spacey' time be sure to keep your grounding crystal close to you. Some people may need to keep it with them most of the time.  

You can sometimes help another person become more grounded by sitting quietly, holding your grounding crystal, and visualizing that person being firmly rooted to the earth.  
 

Window crystals are used for working within yourself to deal with problems and changes that must be made in your life. They are used in meditation to help you solve problems that are troubling your Inner Being. For example, if you find you are very jealous of a friend, you can use a window crystal to work within yourself to find the reason and deal with it.  

Think of a window crystal as a window into your soul. These are very personal crystals, and when one comes into your hands, it is intended to help you specifically.  

Exercise: Sit with the crystal in your hand and concentrate on whatever there is within you that needs dealing with or changing. Just sit quietly and allow your mind to go where it wants to go. If you aren't sure what changes you need to make, sit with the crystal and ask it directly to help you find the areas in your life that may be causing you problems that you are not aware of.  

This crystal can be used when trying to help someone else solve problems. If a friend comes to you to talk about a problem have him hold the window crystal while you talk. It can help him open up.  
 

According to Melody, to let us see the Spirit realms, or to lead us within to see our own souls. -  window crystals are powerful teachers.  They are like open windows through which one can see beyond illusionary identities and into the essence of the self.  It is said that window crystals will come to a person when he/she is willing to honestly look within the self and to accept the truth.*

"WINDOW CRYSTAL" RIGHT ACTIVATION
Recognized by an inclined window located on the right side of the primary face of the crystal.  Primarily activates and increases performance of the right brain function.  Used with the Left Activation crystal, it brings a melding of the right and left brain abilities and a synthesis of same.* Also have seen this called a "time link".  The right leaning link is said to be a time link to the future.

"WINDOW CRYSTAL" LEFT ACTIVATION
Recognized by an inclined window located on the left side of the primary face of the crystal.  Primarily activates and increases performance of the left brain function.  Used with the Right Activation crystal, it brings a melding of the right and left brain abilities and a synthesis of same.*

Record keepers differ from window crystals in that window crystals help you look inside yourself to let you see the various things you need to learn, while record keepers deal with a specific lesson that you need to learn. A record keeper will often pass from your hands very quickly once the lesson is learned.  

Carry your record keeper or put it close to your bed so that it can work with you. It can also be used for meditation.  

Some crystals have several special characteristics, i.e. an Isis with a Record. In this case there is a specific lesson to learn that deals with the feminine side of your energy. If you have an Isis with a window it means that you need to look inside to find the areas in your feminine side that are causing you problems.

Crystals which have small pyramid-shaped marking on one or more facets which designates them as record-keepers.  A crystal within which wisdom is stored.  It is thought that when one properly attunes with this crystal, the ancient knowledge and profound secrets of the universe can be psychically retrieved.  They have been consciously and purposefully programmed by the beings who created the energies which have culminated in the actualization of life on this plane, and by their direct descendants [e.g., the Atlanteans and Lemurians].  Only those with open minds and pure hearts can access the information stored in the record keeper crystal.*

When you are having a problem with a relationship sit quietly with the twin and ask for help. Remember, that answers come from many directions.  

Twins are personal crystals as one of the twins is very closely tuned to your energy, so it is not possible to use this crystal to work for others in relationship matters.

Crystal that is naturally faceted on both ends (terminals). These crystals don’t grow on a matrix like other crystals do.  They form free-floating in clay pockets, that’s why they have two terminations. They  promote psychic ability and dream recall; to balance the body, mind and spirit.

Work slowly with this type of crystal, so that things can be cleared at your own pace. You may not feel inclined to work with it at all in the beginning. Don't force yourself. When you are ready, you will find yourself drawn to that particular crystal. You may have this crystal for years before you use it.  

Also, sometimes crystals come to you so that they can go to someone else. For example, someone might receive a crystal with babies, have it for some time and not be drawn to it at all. Suddenly they will have an urge to pass it on to someone else.  

You can use this crystal in meditation or just keep it close to you. Just be prepared to deal with whatever comes up. Try to have some sort of support around you if you are going to work with this crystal.

"BARNACLE"
Crystals covered or partially covered with smaller crystals. The larger crystal is the "Old Soul" and contains the wisdom and trust which attracts the smaller crystals. Used in meditation to provide insights to family and/or community problems. Also excellent for those employed in "service organizations" to help stimulate a group cohesiveness and willingness to work together.*

PHANTOMS:
Just as a cross-cut tree shows rings of growth, phantoms mark the growth of crystal. Cosmic dust covers the crystal's points at different stages in its development: it's like seeing time which has been stopped and held in a photograph. These configurations look very much like internal pyramids. Each phantom records the exact time in history when it was formed: you may well be looking at dust that is 200 million or more years old. These are the keys to the centuries and the recorders of the past, the solution to the missing link. We can learn much about our past lives with the phantom. A great deal has been written about pyramid power. The miniature pyramids within the walls of the rystal give this mineral pyramid power. By tapping into that pyramid power and exploring the vast wisdom that the crystal holds, one might understand the past in relationship to the future. The phantom is a great reservoir of untapped energy.

"GOLDEN HEALER"
A quartz crystal which is partially or totally covered with a transparent golden-yellow mineral.  This has been used to assist one in attaining and maintaining contact with the spiritual worlds and to incite healing on all levels.  It is an excellent stone for use in all healing situations and promotes the recognition of methods and techniques which will further recovery from all disorders.*  

Exercise: Rainbow crystals bring joy into your life. If you are sad or depressed sit and meditate on the rainbow. It can help lighten your mood. If working with another, let him hold the crystal if he is with you. If he is not with you, hold the rainbow and visualize white light leaving the rainbow and going to him.

"BRIDGE"
A large crystal with a smaller crystal(s) which penetrates and is located partially in, and partially out of the larger crystal. It facilitates bridging between the inner and outer worlds, between the self and others, and the self and other worlds. It is beneficial when working with the aspects of spirituality, the advanced metaphysical areas, and attempting to share this knowledge with others.*

 

"CHLORITE"
Chlorite is one of the most favorable healing stones.  Worn, carried or placed in ones environment, the properties of chlorite are overwhelmingly positive.  It brings the energy to enhance cooperation and stimulates ones personal affinity with "All".  It is a purifier and is quite useful for cleansing the aura, the chakras, and the energy meridians.*

"CLUSTERS"
Crystals which have grown together, free-standing or on a sandstone base. To foster protection, cooperation, purification, harmony, friendship and intimacy; to break up negative energy in the environment.

"Pyrite in your cluster helps to keep away all forms of negative vibrations and can work to allay physical danger."

"CONSUMMATION"
Crystals in which one crystal is in the process of consuming (engulfing) another.  This mineral is a "stone for metamorphosis and progression".  It can help one to flow with constant regulation through the many fluctuations necessary in the physical world.*

"CURVED"
Crystals which have a curved shape or which the sides are curved.  Produced during the developmental stages, this is a rare occurrence.  They emanate a gentle yet powerful energy and can be used to cleanse the aura, promote flexibility in ones attitude, and provide strength in decisions, among other things.  It allows one to see the inner workings of any situation and to understand the superficial and deeper meanings  inherent in same.*

"DRUSY (pronounced 'DREW-zee') "
Very small points which are described as "a myriad of very closely set tiny crystals".  The Drusy Clusters consist of tiny crystal points in their very formation, and are encrusted on either sandstone or quartz based matrixes. Suggested uses of drusy crystals for people who want to encourage ideas or thought forms ready to spring forth and grow.

"EIGHT-SIDED FACE QUARTZ CRYSTALS"
According to Melody, "eight-faced crystals provide conservation of energy, of resources, of...  They stimulate the removal of obstacles in ones path and provide for further installation of energy in all endeavors.  They are said to be of other-worldly origination and to bring the capacity for actualization on all levels.  In addition, they are said to bring order to ones life, to impart an energy of manifestation and to produce a melding of the spiritual and the angelic realms."*

"ELESTIAL"
The Elestial Crystal is recognized by natural terminations over the body and face of an etched and/or layered crystal. Used to assist one in overcoming emotional burdens, to bring the heart and intellect into synchronicity, and to help one look within and to find the love that has always been there.*

"EMPATHIC"
Empathic crystals are ones which are chipped or damaged in some way.  They promote understanding, compassion, kindness and empathy.  They open and heal the hearts of those who have closed them while also protecting the open-hearted from too much pain. Wonderful crystal to use while working with Kwan Yin~

EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL CRYSTAL
A crystal with a single termination at one end and multiple terminations at the other end.  It is believed this crystal will help channel space beings, celestial beings and guardian angels.
 

"FADEN"
A crystal in which the inclusion of one or more white thread-like fibrous formations occurs. The Faden is visible within the quartz structure because it is surrounded by either a fluid filled or gaseous chamber. The fiber is located usually at or in proximity to the center of the crystal, perpendicular to the termination of the crystal and may be linear and undeviating or curved/bent. It is a crystal of connection, stimulating and furthering connective forces between the self and that which is chosen as the recipient. It is also a stone for astral travel.*

"FAIRY FROST"
Clear crystal with fractures and inclusions within (sometimes called "Devic"). To facilitate communication with the spirits in nature; to open our hearts to the beauty and magic of nature; to encourage us to care for Mother Earth.

"FEMININE CRYSTALS"
Crystals that are more cloudy (contain more Devic "fairy frost") and are sometimes opaque or milky in appearance. Those who have difficulty relating to their feminine nature should use a feminine crystal in their daily routine. Whenever a person is suffering from an over-abundance of energetic forces or activities, using a feminine crystal can help to reduce the tension.  Since we all possess masculine and feminine traits, it is best to have both in a crystal collection. However, if we have trouble balancing our two sides within, it might be helpful to own a crystal that allies with the side of ourselves that we have the most trouble coming to terms with.

"GENERATOR POINTS" also called "MERLIN"
Merlin crystals, also called Generator, recognized as a configuration of six crystal faces joining together to form the terminated apex (a centrally located point).  Has been termed “THE” quartz crystal for the energy generation.  It is useful for stimulating all portions of the physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual and subtle bodies.   A small  Merlin crystal is excellent to use as a pendulum.

 

"GROWTH INTERFERENCE"
A quartz crystal configured such that the structural interference of another mineral is quite obvious during the growth of the quartz.  Allows one to penetrate the exterior layers of a difficulty or an enigma, allowing for the essence of the problem to become evident, and further providing insight to the solutions which would be most appropriate.*

"IMPRINTS"
Imprints left on the surfaces or facets of a crystal, where they grew in close proximity to another crystal. I haven't found reference to these marks in any crystal book, but have developed my own idea as to what they signify. I believe that crystals with imprints show how something is affected by outside influences, thereby changing the shape or form of the original structure, but the original structure adapts to its environment to allow for growth and change, while still maintaining its basic inherent truth and beauty.

"INCLUSIONS"
When one is attracted to and uses included quartz, the quartz inclusion will work with the person to provide the further nourishment and qualities required.  Usually the chlorite and hematite included quartz provide the most powerful healing-type of included quartz.*
CHLORITE INCLUDED:  Chlorite is one of the most favorable healing stones.  Worn, carried, placed within ones environment, or used as an elixir, the properties of chlorite are overwhelmingly positive.  It attacks anger, hostility, and exasperation, and dissipates the dissenting energy.
MANGANESE INCLUDED: The color of manganese inclusions range from metallic gray to gray-black to black.  It is a mineral of bonding, bringing others closer and activating the energies of cooperation in group efforts.  It furthers a firm impenetrable resolve, such that that which one initiates, one completes.



"JAPAN LAW TWIN"
Has been used to stimulate the synthesis of the perfection of the subtle bodies to the state of the physical body.  Also used to dissipate and to transmute deviations, working out problems on both the physical and subtle levels.  Excellent for clearing the aura and for aligning the auric body with the physical structure.  Stabilizes emotions, to dispel anger, and to encourage one to "expect a miracle" among other qualities.*

"KEY"
Recognized by a three or six-sided indented shape located on the crystal.  The indent becomes narrower as it goes within the crystal, and ends within the crystal, usually in an apex termination.  It is used to unlock the "doors" to healing concepts and to those aspects of the self which tend to be illusive.  It further helps to answer questions like - why can't I..?*Maybe a crystal to use while working with Hecate/Hekate~

"LASER WAND"
A long slender crystal with small faces comprising the termination.  The crystal is wider at the base than at the tip (tapers inversely), and the angles of the sides of the crystal are curved, rather than straight, in many instances.  These crystals have an intimate relationship with both inner and outer space.*

"LINEATED"
Configured to show the presence of a parallel raised or indented rectilinear structure on the face or sides of the crystal; not etched, but caused by the growth against another pattern configuration. Used by Native Americans to trace their heritage, also used during the vision quest to provide for a connection between the physical realm and vision realm.  Dedicated to the fox, bringer of rapidity, dexterity, and Machiavellian tendency to that which is the focus. Used in Spiritual journeying to protect and assist one in choice of option. (from Melody's Love is in the Earth Pictorial Supplement pg. 229).*

"MANIFESTATION"
The Manifestation crystal is recognized by a small crystal totally enclosed within a larger crystal, and they are very rare.  The use of the manifestation crystal requires the inner knowledge that one is a clear and perfect channel, that a pure white light provides the guiding way, and that the purity of the Divine is within the inner self.  They can also be used to facilitate artistic creativity, creative thinking, agricultural pursuits, and to increase or decrease any aspect of ones life.*

"MASCULINE CRYSTALS"
The most clear crystals are thought of as "masculine crystals". Such clear crystals often emit the most intense energies making them very potent tools, especially for healing. The masculine crystal will provide positive assistance for those who are somewhat confused, or their overview of life is "clouded" by emotion. They are of particular benefit where action is required, and where physical exhaustion is a problem.  Since we all possess masculine and feminine traits, it is best to have both in a crystal collection. However, if we have trouble balancing our two sides within, it might be helpful to own a crystal that allies with the side of ourselves that we have the most trouble coming to terms with.

"ORTHOCLASE"
A mineral rarely found attached to quartz crystal.  A form of feldspar.  Helps overcome tragedy and can provide assistance in the alignment of the chakras, the subtle bodies and the meridians of the physical body.  Emits an energy of liveliness and pleasantness, stimulating tact, finesse, poise and refinement.  A "stone of cooperative effort".  It provides for contact with the ancient builders of Egypt and can be used to initiate insight into the ancient methods and associated wisdom.  The plate like form can be used to stimulate the higher psychic abilities and to encourage ones faith in the personal intuitive capabilities.  It has been used in the alignment of the spinal structure and the teeth.*

"PHANTOM CRYSTAL"
The Phantom crystal is comprised of a white or colored material and may be partial or complete.  The phantoms within a crystal provide an indication of the experiences and the transformations the crystal has undergone in its evolution.  The crystal represents the many phases and the many types of life which may be experienced during ones lifetime.  It is one of the Earth stones to be used for redemption and cleansing of the earth.  The energy of the phantom works to bring together the participants of humanity to save the planet.*

New Leatherhead Phantoms:  The best way I can describe one of the PERFECT phantoms is if you can imagine a crystal point just below the surface of the main point (remember the definition of a phantom), about 1/4 inch, but the surface of the inner crystal is made of FRACTURES... the inner faces parallel to the outer faces look like mirror fractures.

"POCKET"
Pocket quartz formation "can be recognized by the formation of pockets in large quartz structures". Used to assist one in memory stimulation and to increase ones memory capacity.*

"RAINBOW"
Crystal which has rainbows inside when viewed in bright light. These rainbow crystals bring rainbows into ones life and are a very special gift from the spirit-keeper of the crystal; they help one to deal with negativity and to maintain the constant awareness that love is within the life one experiences at every moment.*

 

Rutilated

"RUTILATED CRYSTAL"
Rutile crystallizes in the form of prismatic crystals, or in this case, as needle-like crystals.  It has been known to represent both the lovely hair of Venus and the "sweet" tipped arrows of love.  It has been likened to the appearance of wheat straw and angel hair.  The ethereal aspects of rutile bring strength with love, ease in transition, growth in all avenues of ones development, and calm, reason and order. Rutile is used for healing and balancing the aura via repelling negative energy.  It affects the physical, etheric and astral bodies.  It assists one in getting to the root of a problem and hence, provides for access to the reason for a dis-ease , so that one can remedy the situation.  It is a stone for stabilizing relationships, marriages, mental processes, and emotional and physical imbalances.*

Tourmaline Scepter

"SCEPTOR" or "SCEPTRE"
Recognized as a naturally formed crystal which at the base is penetrated by a rod; in actuality, the crystal formed around the rod.  The sceptor crystal brings the spirituality of the higher planes into the healing ceremonies and focuses the energy deep within the "heart" of the matter.  It is an excellent configuration for transmission of directional energy.

"SELF HEALED"
Crystals which have "sealed" over their broken end with small triangular shaped facets, which also smoothes the broken edge (happens millennia ago when the crystal breaks in it's formation).  Because these crystals have healed themselves, we view them as particularly powerful healing stones.*

"SHEET"
Occurs in the formation of flat and relatively clear quartz layers.  It has been used as a window to other dimensions, to access information from the astral plane and the Askashic Records and to see within the inner self.  Sheet quartz has also been used for gazing and for sending and receiving messages.*

"SMOKEY"
The energy of Smokey quartz is receptive and it is a mood elevator, used as a grounding stone. It is thought to overcome depression and other negative emotions.  Tends to penetrate and dissolve energy fields which have been generated from negative thought forms, anger and resentment.  It is prolonged, intense and gentle in its action on the higher levels such as meditation, simply holding the stone will suffice.  Provides for balancing the Yin/Yang energy.  The presence of sodium in clear quartz is said to produce smokey quartz; therefore, according to Melody, smokey quartz can facilitate the regulation of liquids within the body, and can produce a state of equilibrium within the body with respect to mineral supplementation.

When there is a distinct delineation between clear and smokey, "the combination of Smokey/Clear quartz with a very definite separation", like this one, "has produced a melding of the properties of Smokey and clear quartz.  It has also been used to assist one in matters of discrimination and in delineation of those actions required in ones life to facilitate the furtherance of objectives in any situation.  The smokey acts to ground the energies of the clear quartz, promoting ease of energy application.  This combination has an enhanced energy."*

"SOUL-MATE or TWIN"
Two crystals grown together (attached side to side) and of a similar size. To promote loving contact, tender communication and togetherness; to help find our soul-mate on a personal level; to teach us our souls are joined to all beings on a spiritual level.

"SPIRAL"
The spiral quartz crystal can be recognized by the twisted configuration throughout the body of the formation.  It has been used to bring the universal spiral of energy to the physical body and to assist one in maintaining connection with the physical plane during meditation. It inspires the energy of love, such that all chakras are activated into a spontaneous flowing movement, providing for a balance of the male and female energies.*

"TABULAR or TABBY"
A crystal with a flattened shape. To enhance communication, smooth energy flow and integration of ideas and balance; to facilitate understanding and dialogue between people; to help us communicate with nature.

Titanium treated quartz is also known as "Flame Aura" quartz. The material is natural
quartz , sometimes other materials like druzy amethyst or agate, has been specially
treated in a process much like gold plating. It fuses a molecular layer of
titanium plus other metals to the surface of the parent material. The result is a permanent
coloring of the surface creating a dazzling effect to the specimen or jewelry piece.

"Flame Aura" assists greatly in meditation and has stimulated the movement of the
Kundalini to the crown chakra, aligning the chakras during the excursion; Flame Aura
quartz has promoted contact , during meditation, with the ancient Greek civilizations.
It also  has all the properties of natural quartz crystals; alignment, harmony, etc.

"Titanium"
"The Titanium gives the Quartz a wonderful soft Silky feel and a foggy appearance on every other side of the crystal and usually on the tips or edges of the faces. Recognized by 3 seven sided faces separated on each side by a triangular face.  They combine the qualities of the transmitter and channeler crystal.  It is the crystal for creativity and service to humanity through both spiritual and mystical pursuits.  Provides for a continuous connective force between the holder of the crystal and "All That Is".
Melody calls the 7-3-7-3-7-3 configuration TRANS-CHANNELER .It is also called
DOW:
"The Dow channeling crystal is actually named after Janeann Dow.  One of the early channelers and friend of Katrina Rafaell, one of the first and foremost authors of definitive crystal books,  Jane was around when all this started and was one of the first channelers for the Archangels, Michael, St. Germain, and a group who refer to themselves as the watchers.

Jane would sit in front of a very large, huge actually, 7-3-7-3-7-3 crystal and channel for about an hour with a tape recorder on then transcribe her notes later.  So Dow is not a misreference to Tao, never was. You can verify this in Katrina's book."

"TRANSMITTER"
Transmitters are recognized by a configuration of two symmetrical seven-sided faces with a perfect triangular face located between them. Through the use of these crystals, one can connect to the highest wisdom and can receive specific information to specific circumstances, OR can receive the universal truth necessary for ones growth to enlightenment.*

I've also seen this called a "time link".  The left leaning link is said to be a time link to the past.

VEILS:

These look like wispy clouds suspended within the crystal.  They are really "cosmic dust," or impurities which have fallen on the crystal during its growth and been trapped inside. Some veils may also be the result of impurities that existed in the hot molten plasma when the mineral was forming. They provide us with a way to float psychically on a mystical sky, researching the different times in the crystal's memory bank. Like the clouds we see in our world, they can set loose our imaginations and appear to us as animal shapes, mountains, faces, etc., presenting mental pictures for us to enjoy and ponder.

"YIN/YANG CRYSTAL"
A crystal that is half masculine, half feminine (half cloudy, half clear).  Embodies both aspects... the Yin and the Yang, providing balance.
