Date: Aug 26 1997 4:16PM MST Author: Peny North Actually, Lazaris doesn't use the phrase "charging a crystal" all that much. He uses it for one particular technique, though, where the word fits well: He teaches how you can cup your hands around a crystal (or a glass of water or something else) and you can "run a charge" through it which charges it with a certain intent, perhaps a healing intent or for dreamwork. This charge originates in your mind and then joins with (co-creates with) your Unseen Friends and the Goddess. I tend to use the word charge more often, something I must have picked up from magickal ritual work and just use for simplicity's sake (which is not always a good motivation, LOL!). What Lazaris mainly talks about with crystals (so far, I have to add) is that they carry energy, frequencies, that they can be filled purposely with these. For instance, he gives a crystal to each person at his Weekend and Intensive events and he suggests that it can carry the energy and teachings and resonance of that event. Any other crystal could do that, too, of course. People often bring him their other crystals for him to touch -- he is raising the resonance of those crystals, not charging them. IFirst, to charge it via the cupped hands seems fine to us, not a limitation of the relationship. Secondly, the phrase I adopted (aligning the resonance) seems to need more explanation. This is a different modality altogether. I see this as what I would use if I was asking Lazaris to align it since he would be raising its resonance and maybe also aligning its resonance for a specific purpose, whatever that might be and the list is truly limitless. Jach said,"Well, someone might align a crystal to their own resonance, too." I immediately balked at that because, in my way of thinking, you wouldn't need to bother -- the crystal will align with your resonance as it lives with you and works with you. I would want it to be aligned to a higher resonance than me -- i.e., Lazaris! [g] -- like with essential oils since they have higher frequencies than humans and illnesses and therefore the law of resonance means we *have* to "go up" at least somewhat unless we just always pull them all the way down which would take quite a decision since most of the ones we all like range from 100 to 320 Hertz! So, to me, crystals and essential oils and some flower remedies and homeopathy and radionics are all higher frequencies and therefore that is one of the loving interactions they perform for us. Now, I might have one crystal I've aligned with Lazaris (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:MAJOR CLARIFICATION: I don't think a crystal can align with the real level of Lazaris' resonance and I don't mean to mislead about that -- nothing in the Four Lower Worlds can do that, by definition. I just mean that his resonance can lift the crystal's to some higher resonance than it was beforehand -- this would vary with the crystal and the person co-creating with the crystal, this would not be a set frequency number, not at all) and use it to align some other crystals.....but, in the sense of taking a crystal I want to work with for, say, dreamwork, I can't necessarily align it to what I want since I am not at that resonance -- I can use an essential oil on it, add some programming and place it on the MMM for a brief time to get it where I want it to be -- this all in an attitude of co-creation ( a term Lazaris uses often) because it does have its own mind and consciousness, Soul, etc. All the phrases both help and limit, I see. Exploring how we can work with the crystals more productively is something I feel coming at us almost full speed these days. It all revolves around Dominion instead of any sense of domination ( I doubt whether many crystal workers feel domination toward crystals, I don't mean that, but there is sometimes a sense that they do not really know they are Beings, more like they are tools -- which they are, too, of course...ah, it is so complex.[g]). This whole thing -- the field of vocabulary with crystals -- is tricky, as language always is. Much is defined by language so it is always a barrier. It is almost claustrophobic when you think about how limited we are even as to what thoughts we can think, simply by language. So, I guess we're needing to head toward more preciseness and perhaps we'll have to utilize several phrases and verbs as we explore our real interface with crystals. The first round of crystal work and crystal books is well behind us now, from the 70s and 80s. We can't be limited by what they said (and didn't know enough to say). It's great we all can share together in here as we map new territory. I love it that so many here know so much about crystals and working with them. Sometimes people know about them but they don't do much with them (thinking about a certain vendor you and I get peeved with). Here, we seem to want to know all about them but as a first step....then we're off and flying, working with them.   Peny  North
